Eastern Redbud
The Red Bud tree, Cercis Canadensis, is also known as the eastern red bud, and sometimes referred to as the Judas tree because it dates back to biblical times. It is a small deciduous tree that displays an abundance of purple blossoms in the spring. It has large heart shaped leaves during the summer, and long seedpods in the fall. Red Bud trees have a yellow fall color. These trees are effective as a single specimen, in groupings, in a shrub border, and especially nice in woodland and naturalized type situations. It has low water requirements and displays a high tolerance to salt and alkali soils. Thousands of small rosy-pink flowers appear in the spring before leaves appear. It can be used in full sun to part shade. Does well in many soil types, except permanently wet soils. The seed pods attract wildlife.

Lombardy Poplar
The Lombardy Poplar tree, Populus nigra, is a fast growing, tall, columnar tree with bright green leaves with a silver underside. These trees are used to form quick windbreaks, while longer-lived, slower growing trees mature. A great plant for a fast growing windbreak or screen. For screening plant 5′? to 8′? apart in the row. These deciduous trees have moderate to high water requirements, and is moderate in its tolerance to salt and alkali. Keeping the Lombardy Poplar watered and fertilized is important for longevity. Widely used because they are graceful and they provide fast borders and screens.

Hackberry
The Hackberry tree, Celtis Occidentalis, is a superior tree that withstands heat, drought, wind, and alkaline soils. The Hackberry tree is tall, and has similar spread, with ascending arching branches, and some drooping branches. Hackberry trees have a large spreading crown with red-orange fruit in the fall. This deciduous tree has low water requirements, and a high tolerance to salt and alkali soils and urban conditions. Light green summer foliage turns to a yellow fall color. The Hackberry is a moderate growing rugged tree. The trunk takes on a corky appearance as it matures.

Golden Raintree
The Golden Raintree, Koelreuteria Paniculata, is an excellent tree and unrivaled for late yellow flowers. Golden Raintrees are also known as Chinese Flame trees. It is one of the very few yellow flowering trees. This deciduous tree is excellent as a small lawn tree, or for shading a patio. Golden Raintrees display a beautiful show of fall color with 2 inch golden seed pods against a dark green-leafed background. The seed pods look like tiny Chinese lanterns. It has rounded outline, spreading and ascending branches, open, reddish copper-colored foliage in the spring. It is a tough and an adaptable tree used for many landscaping applications. They are very tolerant of polluted air environments.

Eastern Red Cedar
The Eastern Red Cedar, Juniperus Virginiana, is a small to medium-sized aromatic evergreen tree. Typically, the trunk is straight and the tree has a pointed, dense, conical crown that may be varied or irregular, depending on ecotype or competing vegetation. The fruit, or cone, is berrylike and dark blue. Birds devour the fruit. Eastern Red Cedar trees can grow on a variety of soils. Its deep roots and small leaf surface make it very drought resistant. It is the primary species in most windbreaks. The wood of the Red Cedar is fragrant and is used extensively for furniture. The foliage is bright green to dark green.
