Veronica - Aztec Gold
The Veronica Aztec Gold, ‘Veronica spicata’, is an easy to grow perennial that adds beauty to any garden. This creeping ground cover produces wonderful short spikes of sky blue flowers that bloom from June till September. With its brilliant golden foliage, it has a plant height of 3′? and a spread of 1-2′?. ‘Aztec Gold’? needs a full sun area with well-drained soil. Deadhead the flowers after the first bloom to prolong its bloom time.Veronica can be used as a ground cover, in mass plantings or along borders. The Tiarella Sea Foam, ‘Tiarella hybrid’, also known as Foamflower, is becoming one of the most popular shade perennials on the market today. ‘Sea Foam’? has deeply cut fuzzy green foliage. No other Tiarella has a better contrast in the leaf color. The highlights of black and purple patterns make it what it is. Best of all, the coloration is more intense during the winter months, not to mention being lightly fragrant. Sweet Woodruff
The Galium Sweet Woodruff, ‘Galium odoratum’, is a new ground cover that has delicate white flowers that look wonderful with its dark green foliage. When dried, the leaves are mildly fragrant. Galium blooms from late spring to early summer. ‘Sweet Woodruff’? has a plant height of 6-12′? and a plant spread of 12′?. It requires full sun but will tolerate morning shade and moist, well drained soil. (More shade is required in warm climates.) Galium can spread very rapidly and must be planted in an area where it is able to take over. Use ‘Sweet Woodruff’? as an edging perennial, in a naturalized area, or as a ground cover beneath shrubs.
